Privacy policy

What we collect when you ask us for a quote, why we have it, who sees it and how to get it removed.

Your privacy

The short version

You send us your name, a way of contacting you and a few words about the job. We use it to reply to you and, if you book, to do the work and invoice you. Nobody buys it, nobody borrows it, and this website does not track you. Everything below just says that properly.

Written the way we would explain it on the phone, rather than the way lawyers usually write it.

Who we are

MyT Clean & Maintenance is the trading name of MyT Clean Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 13720210. Our address is 3 Grove Place, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK40 3JJ.

We are the data controller for the information described on this page. That means we decide what is collected and what happens to it, and we are the people to come to if you want it changed or removed.

You can reach us on 01234 862437, by WhatsApp on 07765 587447, or by email at info@mytclean.co.uk.

What the forms collect

There are two enquiry forms on this website: the quote box on the home page and the fuller form on the contact page. Between them they ask for:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number, if you choose to give one
  • the type of clean you are after, if you pick one from the list
  • whatever you write in the message box

That is the lot. There is no account to set up, no password, and we do not ask for any payment details on this website. Please do not put anything sensitive in the message box, such as health or financial information. You do not need to, and we would rather you did not.

If you ring us, message us on WhatsApp or email us directly, we will hold whatever you tell us in that conversation for the same reasons and on the same terms as anything sent through a form.

Why we have it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to answer you. That means working out a price, asking you the questions we need to ask, and getting back to you by whichever route you gave us.

For an enquiry, our lawful basis is legitimate interests. You have asked us a question and we have a clear interest in answering it. Replying to your own enquiry is exactly what you would expect us to do with your details, and it does not override your rights or your privacy.

If you go ahead and book a clean, the basis becomes contract. We need your name, contact details and address to turn up, get in, do the work and invoice you for it.

We also have to keep proper accounting records, so invoices and the details on them are kept because the law requires it.

We do not market at you

We do not sell your details, swap them, or hand them to anyone who wants to sell you something. You are not added to a mailing list for asking us a question.

If we ever wanted to email you about anything other than your enquiry or your job, we would ask you first, and you could say no or change your mind later without it being awkward.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep a sensible record that it happened. If nothing comes of it, there is no reason for us to hold on to it and it gets deleted.

If your enquiry turns into work, we keep the job paperwork for as long as we need it to look after you as a customer, and we keep accounting records for the period the law requires. After that they go.

If you would like your details removed sooner, email us and we will do it. See your rights below.

Who else sees it

Only the people who need to. In practice that is:

  • Us. The office team who read enquiries and price the work, and the cleaner who needs to know where they are going.
  • Resend. When you send a form, the message is delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service. They handle it on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
  • Our web host. This website is hosted on servers in the United Kingdom. Our host passes your form on to us and keeps short technical logs of requests to the site, as any web host does.
  • The people who look after our website. A copy of each enquiry email goes to them so they can see the form is working and chase anything that fails to arrive.

Beyond that, we would only pass your details on if the law told us to. We do not sell them and we do not put them on marketing lists.

Resend is an American company, so your enquiry may be handled on servers outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the transfer safeguards they have in place for UK and European customers.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics on it, no advertising, no tracking pixels and nothing that follows you around after you leave. Nothing you do here is used to build a profile of you.

That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

If we add analytics or anything similar later, we will update this page before it goes live and ask for your consent where the rules require it.

Keeping it safe

The form sends over an encrypted connection, so what you type is not readable in transit. Your enquiry then sits in our email, which is protected by password and is only opened by the people who deal with enquiries.

No system is perfect. If something ever went wrong with your information and there was a real risk to you, we would tell you and we would report it to the Information Commissioner’s Office as the law requires.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access. Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Rectification. Have anything wrong or out of date corrected.
  • Erasure. Ask us to delete what we hold, where we have no good reason to keep it.
  • Restriction. Ask us to stop using it for a while, for example while you query whether it is right.
  • Objection. Object to us using it where we rely on legitimate interests.
  • Portability. Ask for what you gave us in a common format you can take elsewhere.

To use any of these, email info@mytclean.co.uk and say what you would like. You do not need to use any special wording. We may ask a question or two to check it really is you before we act.

It costs you nothing, and the law gives us a month to answer. We would rather do it sooner.

If you are not happy

Tell us first. Email info@mytclean.co.uk or ring 01234 862437 and we will look into it properly.

If we cannot put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk. You can go to them at any point, but it is usually quicker to give us a chance to sort it out.

Changes to this notice

If what we do with your information changes, we will change this page and update the date at the top. The most likely change is analytics being added to the website, and we would say so here before it happened.

This notice covers this website. Our terms and conditions cover how we quote for and carry out the work itself.
