Carpet cleaning in Buckingham
Hot water extraction that lifts what a domestic machine leaves behind, across MK18. Most carpets are walkable in a couple of hours.
Carpet Cleaning across Buckingham, done properly
Carpet cleaning in Buckingham is rarely the same job twice. In the Georgian streets rebuilt after the 1725 fire, Castle Street, Castle Hill and the north side of Market Hill, the carpet runs up a narrow staircase that turns, so much of it is hand work with a small tool rather than a machine on the flat.
Out at Maids Moreton, Gawcott and Padbury there is a lot more floor and nobody home between seven in the morning and seven at night. And down by the Great Ouse, carpets and upholstery come to us once a flooded house has been dried out.
What we have learned working in Buckingham
Things we plan around when we are doing carpet cleaning in Buckingham:
- Turned staircases in the Georgian centre Castle Street and Castle Hill have stairs that narrow and turn, with old timber underneath. That is hand tool work, taken a tread at a time, and we keep the moisture down so the boards below stay dry.
- After the Great Ouse has been up Ford Street, Bourton Park and the ground near Cornwalls Meadow sit low. Once a drying firm has signed the house off as dry, we take on the carpets and upholstery. While it is still wet, that is not our trade.
- Sofas and armchairs in the shared lets Houses let to students near Hunter Street and Chandos Road hand back twice a year rather than once, so the upholstery takes double the wear. We do suites, dining chairs and mattresses on the same visit.
- Village houses with a lot of floor Maids Moreton, Gawcott, Padbury and Akeley have bigger rooms and longer landings than the town, so we book the time properly and bring enough hose to reach the far end of the house from the van.
What carpet cleaning in Buckingham includes
What a typical carpet clean covers. We agree the rooms and the price before anything is moved.
- A walk round first, so you know what will lift and what will not
- Furniture moved where it is safe to, and protectors under anything that stays
- Pre-treatment on traffic lanes, stains and pet marks
- Hot water extraction through the full depth of the pile
- Edges and stair nosings done by hand, which is where most jobs are let down
- Deodoriser and a stain protector if you want them, priced separately
Upholstery, rugs and hard floors are separate jobs with separate kit. Ask and we will price them at the same time.

What people say about MyT Clean
Our ground floor flooded when the river came up. Can you clean the carpets?
Once the house has been dried out and signed off as safe, yes. We are cleaners, not a flood restoration or drying firm, so while the floor is still wet you need those people and your insurer first. After Storm Bert took the Great Ouse to 2.31 metres in November 2024, that order of work matters.
We are in a listed house on Castle Street. Is a wet clean safe on the stairs?
Yes, with the moisture controlled. Much of the centre was rebuilt after the 1725 fire and those stairs sit on old timber, so we use a hand tool, work a tread at a time and extract hard rather than soaking. Nothing heavy gets hauled up a narrow staircase either.
How long before we can walk on them?
Usually a few hours with the windows open. Older houses on Castle Hill and Market Hill hold damp for longer, so we bring an air mover for those. If you commute out to Milton Keynes Central or Bicester, we can start early and be finished before you are back.
We have two dogs and a toddler. Is it safe for them?
Yes. Everything we use is rinsed back out by the extraction rather than left sitting in the pile, which is what makes a cheap clean resoil within weeks. Nothing stays on the surface for a child or a dog to lie on. In the village houses at Gawcott, Padbury and Chackmore, where dogs come in off the lanes muddy all winter, that matters more than the stain itself.
Which parts of Buckingham do you cover?
All of MK18, taking in Buckingham, Maids Moreton, Gawcott, Padbury, Tingewick, Winslow, Steeple Claydon, Lace Hill and Badgers.
Do you do office carpet as well as houses?
Yes. A lot of Buckingham's office carpet is in the offices bolted onto working units on the Tingewick Road estate and at Swan Business Park off Osier Way, so it picks up site dust as well as foot traffic. We work out of hours with air movers running, so nobody comes in on Monday to damp floors and trailing hoses. Ask for a commercial price and we will fit it round your week.
