Our block paving looked great and then the weeds came back within weeks. Why?
Usually because the jointing sand was never replaced. Washing takes it out of the joints, and an empty joint holds seed and water. We re-sand every block drive we do in Luton, from the semis around Limbury to the longer drives out at Caddington, and it makes a real difference to how long it holds.

Not if the pressure and the angle are right. On the Victorian and Edwardian terraces in High Town and Bury Park we drop the pressure near the wall, keep the lance flat and away from the air bricks, and check the pointing before we start. If the mortar is already loose we will tell you rather than blast it out and hand you a repair.
Can you get rid of the black spot on our sandstone patio?
Usually a big improvement, not always a full clear. Black spot is a lichen that roots into the stone, so washing alone takes the surface off and leaves the marks. It needs a chemical pre-treatment and time to work. We see it most on the sandstone patios out at Bushmead, Wigmore and Putteridge, especially where a fence or a north facing wall keeps the slabs damp. We will tell you which yours is before we quote.
