No, but it wants a light touch. New drives on the Western Expansion Area take a beating from site traffic and skips while the rest of the plots are finished, so they mark early. Low pressure with a rotary head lifts that without stripping the joints, and we re-sand afterwards so the blocks stay locked.
Where does all the dirty water go?
Into the nearest gully, not into your borders and not onto the redway. On the estates where paths and parkland run right up to the boundary we squeegee the run off back towards the drain and clear the silt rather than leaving it to dry into a grey film on the footpath. Debris is bagged and taken away.
Can you get rid of the black spot on our sandstone patio?
Usually much improved, sometimes not fully. Black spot is a lichen rooted into the stone, so it needs a chemical treatment as well as washing, and often a return visit. Indian sandstone is common on the newer estates at Brooklands, Oakgrove and Newton Leys, and a patio that backs onto parkland sits damp and shaded, so it comes back sooner there than on an open south facing garden. We will be straight about what is achievable.
